Corten Steel Corner Raised Bed Sections — Inside & Outside Corners for Any Layout

Corner sections transform a collection of straight modular panels into a complete, enclosed raised bed. These Corten steel corner units are designed to pair directly with our straight modular raised bed sections, giving you the flexibility to build raised beds and planting borders in any rectangular or angled layout.

Available in two corner types — In-Side and Out-Side — so whether your design calls for an internal corner (turning inward, to form an enclosed bed) or an external corner (turning outward, for an L-shaped or wrap-around border), there is a unit to match.

In-Side vs Out-Side Module Corner Section— Which Do I Need?

This is the question most buyers have, and it's straightforward once explained.

An In-Side corner turns inward — it is used when the corner sits inside your design, forming the interior angle of an enclosed raised bed or planting border. If you are building a standard rectangular raised bed, you need In-Side corners.

An Out-Side corner turns outward — it is used when the corner sits on the outside of your design, forming an exterior angle. This is needed when your raised bed wraps around an existing feature, steps around a post or structure, or forms an L-shape or U-shape that has both internal and external corners.

For a simple rectangular raised bed, you will need four In-Side corners. For more complex layouts, you may need a combination of both types. If you are unsure which configuration your design requires, contact us at sales@edensteel.co.uk or call 0121 517 2229 and we'll help you work it out.

What Height Should I Choose?

  • 200mm suits shallow decorative borders and low-profile edging around pathways and beds
  • 400mm is a popular choice for ornamental planting and general garden borders
  • 600mm is well suited to vegetable growing and accessible raised beds, reducing bending when planting and tending Match the height of your corner sections to the height of your straight sections for a consistent finish.

Why Corten Steel?

Corten is the material of choice for raised beds and planters used in professional landscape design because it is engineered specifically to weather outdoors without structural deterioration. As it is exposed to rain and air, the surface forms a stable, self-sealing rust-coloured patina that protects the steel beneath — stopping corrosion at the surface rather than allowing it to penetrate. In a raised bed context this matters because the material is in sustained contact with damp soil and changing conditions. Practically, this means:

  • No painting, sealing, or annual treatment required
  • No flaking or crumbling into the soil over time
  • A finish that deepens and enriches with every season, from bright amber to a warm settled brown
  • Structural integrity maintained for decades in direct contact with soil and the British climate

Handmade in Britain — 25 Years of Steel Manufacturing

Every corner section is fabricated by hand at our UK workshop using 2mm structural-grade Corten steel — the same specification used in architectural and commercial landscaping projects. The 2mm gauge gives each section the rigidity to hold its shape under the sustained lateral pressure of a filled raised bed without bowing or distorting. All Edensteel Corten products carry an 8-year structural warranty. If anything structural fails within that period, we will put it right.

Corner Modular Raised Bed — Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need these corner sections to build a raised bed?

If you want to form an enclosed raised bed or create a corner in your layout, yes — corner sections are required alongside the straight sections. Straight sections alone are suitable for open-sided borders or runs against walls and fences.

What is the difference between In-Side and Out-Side corners?

An In-Side corner forms an interior angle — used in standard enclosed raised beds.
An Out-Side corner forms an exterior angle — used when a layout wraps around something or includes both internal and external corners.
For a standard rectangular bed, you need In-Side corners throughout.

How many corner sections do I need?

A standard rectangular raised bed requires four corner sections. More complex layouts — L-shaped, U-shaped, or wrap-around — will require additional corners and potentially a mix of In-Side and Out-Side types. Contact us if you'd like help planning your layout.

Can I mix corner sizes with different straight section sizes?

The height of your corner sections should match the height of your straight sections for a consistent finish. If you need guidance on combining sizes, our team is happy to help.

Can I order custom corner sizes?

Yes. We can produce corner sections in non-standard sizes to suit your project. Contact us with your requirements for a quote and lead time.

How long does delivery take?

All sections are made to order with an approximate 4-week lead time.

Free kerbside delivery is included on all UK orders.

Why We Recommend Corten Steel

Corten steel is one of the most reliable and visually striking materials you can use outdoors. It combines strength, stability, and a naturally evolving finish that gives every piece its own character. Designers, landscapers and proud gardeners choose it because it lasts, it performs, and it looks better year after year.

Built to Last Outdoors

Corten steel is designed to live outside. As it weathers, the surface forms a protective layer that stops further corrosion, so it won’t flake, crumble, or deteriorate like standard mild steel. It’s made for the British climate and keeps its structural integrity for decades, even in tough conditions.

Low-Maintenance by Nature

Once the patina has settled, Corten steel looks after itself. There’s no painting, sealing, or upkeep needed. The finish deepens in colour and character as the seasons change, creating a warm, natural look that evolves beautifully.

Long-Lasting and Sustainable

Corten steel has an exceptionally long lifespan and is fully recyclable, making it a durable and considered choice for outdoor projects of all sizes. Choosing Corten means choosing a material that performs well, reduces waste, and supports long-term, sustainable design.

Versatile for Every Kind Of Space

From planters and edging to architectural features, screens, water elements, and statement pieces, Corten steel works across residential gardens, courtyards, commercial developments, and landscaped spaces.

Our Corten Steel Warranty

Corten steel is built to last, which is why our Corten range includes an 8-year structural warranty - for added peace of mind.
